Mystil Plaza(#3162Rnt) The Mystil Plaza of Linas is a crowded place. Being placed between the eastern gate and the Street of Peace, a constant flow of traffic and trade flows through it, and its paved surface has many carts and wagons stopped on it to sell their goods. As in the other plaza's, a fountain sprays its water high in the air, but almost meekly here, after complaints from merchants about their goods getting wet. West as can be seen leads on into the heart of the city and the Street of Peace. South leads to the richest section of the great city, and the Gold Avenue that travels through it and provides the rich a way to get to their businesses. North leads, with no little irony, into the poorest section of the city. Contents: Barrik(#3211PeACc) Obvious exits: North leads to Sai Road. South leads to Gold Avenue. East leads to Mystil Gate - Linas' East Gate. West leads to Street of Peace. Rain strikes down upon the dark paving stones of the Mystil Plaza. Night has fallen and the plaza is empty, the only light invading its space coming from the torches kept by the gate guards, who huddle under the gate to avoid the rain, shivering slightly in the cold. The gates are closed, but between the bursts of lightning, a sudden knocking is on the outside of the great doors. One of the guards looks to one of his companion, and moves to open the small port door. Barrik walks into the empty, and stormy plaza in the middle of his usual patrol. Just when he is about to call it a night because of the bad weather, there comes a knock on the gate as he walks past. Barrik nods to the guards to open the gate, and awaits to see who is wanting into the city this time of night. The guard nods to Barrik, noticing him in the last instant before opening the gate anyways. Turning towards the heavy wooden doors, he tucks open the small port door, and backs away quickly as a cloaked figure jumps through and into the protection the gate provides from the rain. The guard closes the door again, eyes on the stranger. The other one watches with a hand on his hilt. Turning to regard them, the stranger throws back the hood of his cloak, and smiles. "Come now, so jumpy. Its only a storm." The half-aelf laughs slightly. Barrik smiles widly as the half-aelf throws back his hood. He has not seen this man in a long time and is very happy to see him, "Hello Jerric, it has been a while. Welcome back to Linas." Barrik says as he pats the half-aelf on the back. Barrik wipes his wet face and throws his hair back, "So, how are you doing?" Jerric nods his head in Barrik's direction, a greeting, "Greetings Barrik. Its not been as long as it seems, but it wasn't short either." He smiles slightly, "It is good to be back, but now I will have to go about finding out what all has happened in my absence. Perhaps you could tell me of any interesting events?" Barrik smiles, "Well, nothing new has happened that I know of, patroling the city is usually all I do, and no crime as usual in the city of Linas." Barrik bows his head as he remembers the incident with Opi the other night. He brings his head back up and frown, "There was an incident at the inn the other night though. There are men after the young one Opi, and one of the men was killed by the hands of a man called Zeferius, because he was trying to steal his horse. And Opi still refuses to tell me what is going on." Barrik wipes his face again, and sags his head back down. Jerric nods slightly, gaining a thoughtful look on his face. "Zefirus.. I don't believe I've met him before, but I've met this one called Opi. There are murders in the city, it seems... Thats not good. Zefirus, he has been detained?" Jerric's emerald eyes stay on Barrik's face, though he is shaking the water off his cloak while he talks. Barrik shakes his head, "No he is not, he killed the man in self defense." Barrik tosses his wet hair once again out of his face. "He came back into the inn an told me about it, and I went outside to the body, as Zefirus and I were talking about this the supposedly dead body moved. I went down to him and he said the boy shall die." Barrik suddenly stops and makes sure he has Jerrics attention. "Zefirus and I went back into the inn to get some answers from Opi, but he just avoided us." Wrapping his cloak back around himself, the blond-headed half-aelf nods. "Fair enough. How can you be guilty for killing a man who forced you to do it?" His eyes flash, "Hrms.. So Opi has yet to answer any questions concerning it, has he? No one else has been able to speak with him, as far as you know?" Barrik sighs and mummbles something under his breath. He croses his arms and says, "No, I haven't seen Opi or anyone else for that matter since that incident." Barrik pauses, "Opi......Now he is a troublesome one, and I'm not sure what I should do about him. I can not force the answers out of him as yet, but if need be, I will. I am here to uphold the law and to get rid of those who think otherwise, but that boy just doesn't understand that." Barrik is now seething with rage as he speaks about the boy ans he now speaks his mind, "That boy has challenged my every word, and that i will not tolerate no further." Jerric notices that Barrik's knuckles are now turning white from clenching them so hard. Jerric smiles slightly, wondering what Barrik would do if he knew the half-aelf's true occupation. Nodding, he says, "Young men always do prove troublesome. They like to see how far they can go, and test the bounds. I'm sure you did, once upon a time." Nodding towards the west, he says, "I take it that this occured at the Silver Badger?" Barrik nods, "Yes, I was enjoying a nice conversation with them until Opi's friends had to try to steal Zeferus's horse, and with Opi's mouth, the peacefull night became a nightmare." Barrik walks to a dry bench under an overhanging roof and motions Jerric over, "I'm sure you would like to somewhat dry from the cold rain." Nodding his head, Jerric says, "Yes, actually. I think I'll be going now and let you continue your patrol. I believe once I get to the inn I'll head stay upstairs to my room." With another nod he says, "Good night, Barrik." He then walks from under the protection of the gate into the Plaza of Mystil, and towards the Street of Peace. Barrik pats the half-aelf on the back, "It is nice to see you again Jerric. But you are right, I must get back to my patrol of the city." Barrik chuckles. "I seem to lose track of time sometimes." With that Barrik returns to his patrol with one last wave to Jerric.
