Scattered villages) Phasian: 0 (Probably a city, but no real nation) Gerp: 0 (Roaming bands. Underground nomads, sorta) Troll: 0 (Scattered tribes) Orc: 1 (One nation, will have a couple of 'clans' though) Total Nations of Note: 8 ------ Nation Names: Race: Name: Type: Human Tarsonis Empire Midian Citystate Gerona Republic Namiran Monarchy Dwarf Khazmar Monarchy Lahazar Monarchy Elf Alaria Council Orc Mongolian Hordes (haha, no, kidding) - Clan System - Unsure of name right this second. ------ Human information: Tarsonis and Gerona are the major players. They're the largest two and of probably equal strength. Major rivals but no outright war. Namiran is the next biggest and the most aggressive. They want to annex Midian and grow larger. Midian is a citystate, small area of influence, but is near the Khazmar and profits from their trade, making it wealty and hard for Namiran to just come in and take. Midian has alliances with Khazmar and Tarsonis, while Namiran has a alliance with Gerona. Tarsonis and Gerona have a long time standing treaty(Agreement of non-aggresion, not alliance) from a past war. (Quick note, this is our starting point. Once the system is ready and online, these treaties may or may not be immediately broken/changed). None of the nations have an alliance with the elves or orcs, but Namiran does keep diplomatic ties with the orcs, while Tarsonis keeps in touch with the elves. Gerona plays to both parties of the dwarves, and Midian is left with only relations with Khazmar. Dwarf Information: Khazmar is the original dwarven nation, and has an ancient line of royalty, etc. They're miners (You know dwarves). Lahazar is technically a rogue nation, with kings coming from a rogue bloodline started by an illegitment son of Khazmar royalty. They broke off because that son couldn't gain recognition. Khazmar has an alliance with Midian, and they are one of the chief trading partners (Midian acts as a middle man in many cases). Lahazar sells to anyone, and even trades with orcs. Khazmar has an alliance with Tarsonis as well, and neutral relationships with Gerona and Alaria. They do not trade with Namiran due to its dealings with the Orcs, whom Khazmar has a war declared against. Khazmar has a neutral treaty with Lahazar but tends to ignore the other's claims, stating that the rogue nation is really theirs (Think China/Taiwan. :P) Lahazar currently has no alliances, but has treaties with Gerona, Namiran, the Orcs, and the elves. They do not trade with Midian, and probably have twice as much business in Gerona as Tarsonis. The elves primarily do their own mining, and rarely trade with either kingdom. Elves: Above paragraphs should mention everything, but... Elves are mostly neutral to everyone, but the orcs. They hate the orcs, war, war, war. They have good ties with Tarsonis, neutral ties with Gerona, and not so good ties with Namiran. They don't really notice Midian, and they mostly leave the dwarves completely alone. Orcs: Nough said. Orcs have treaties with Lahazar and Namiran, and is at war with the elves and Khazmar. (note: Another thing setting Lahazar and Khazmar apart). They are neutral towards Tarsonis and Gerona, which are too powerful for them anyways, but have bad ties with Midian, due to Midian's dealings with Khazmar. Internally, they're made up of 5 clans. Whole nother realm of politics there. ------ Stats (Rough draft): (materials omitted for now, need a rough draft of a map first) (Also transportation) Attack/Defense numbers are: Melee, Magic, Subterfuge If treaties/etc do not match above information, this stands. Make a note of any discrepancies and I'll correct them. ------ More in detailed descriptions of nations: (no dates, so I'll just outline a general flow of events.) Human nations: Tarsonis is the oldest of all human nations. A huge empire, it was originally a small monarchy. Over years, successful campaigns added much of the continent to its borders. For years it reigned as the supreme empire, controlling most of the continent. During this time, most of the modern cities were born. But as an empire expands, so does its problems. Eventually, the city of Gerona began to gain power over the western half of the continent. Soon it rivaled its 'sister' city of Tarsonis, and talk began of seperation. Great wars erupted, and much was lost. In the end, the province of Namiran broke away from Tarsonis during its war with Gerona, effectively equalling their forces. Soon the two were forced into a peace treaty, settling the borders that exist to this day. No attempt was made to reclaim Namiran, due to wariness of war. At this time, the city of Midian gained its independance and established itself as a major contact with the Khazmar dwarves. For years Namiran has made threatening moves at Midian, but due to close ties with Tarsonis the small city-state retains its independance. Gerona is content for the moment with its borders, but occasionally has problems with border clashs with the orc clans of the desert that sits on its southern border. None of the nations have any real ties to the elven nation of the far north, and most believe them to be a non-threat if left alone. Namiran and Gerona's ties weaken each year, especially as news of dealings with orcs hit the Gerona court. Some suspect that Namiran would help any force, demonic or angelic, in order to enlarge its own borders.
